When it comes to renovating a small kitchen, maximising space and optimising functionality are key.

At Moorgate kitchens we design spaces of all sizes to help reach their fullest interior potential. Here are some top kitchen renovation ideas for small spaces:

  1. Utilise vertical space: Opt for tall cabinets or shelving units that reach up to the ceiling. This allows you to make the most of vertical space and provides additional storage for items that are not frequently used.
  2. Choose multifunctional furniture: Make smart choices and invest in multifunctional furniture pieces such as a kitchen island with built-in storage, a foldable dining table, or a breakfast bar that can double as a prep area to help save space.
  3. Install compact appliances: Consider installing slim or compact appliances that are specifically designed for small kitchens. For example, you can opt for a narrow refrigerator, a slim dishwasher, or a combination microwave and convection oven.
  4. Use light colours: Light colours for your furniture can make a small kitchen appear larger and brighter. Paint the walls in light shades such as white or pastels and use light-colored cabinets and countertops to create an illusion of space.
  5. Incorporate smart storage solutions: Utilise every inch of available space by incorporating smart storage solutions. Use pull-out drawers, organisers, and dividers in cabinets to maximize storage efficiency. Hang pots and pans on a wall-mounted rack or use a magnetic strip to store knives and utensils.

Remember, every kitchen is unique, so adapt these ideas to suit your personal style, budget, and specific layout.
