Designing a kitchen that is both beautiful and functional is all about finding the right balance between style and practicality. At Moorgate kitchens, this is always one of our top priorities.

We are experts in renovation and walk our customers through every step.

Here are some tips we would love to share to help you achieve the perfect blend of form and function in your kitchen design:

  1. Plan your layout: A well-designed kitchen should have a logical flow that makes it easy to move around and access all the key areas. Consider the ‘work triangle’ – the path between the stove, refrigerator, and sink – which should be as direct and unobstructed as possible.
  2. Choose the right appliances: Modern appliances can add a lot of functionality to your kitchen, but they should also blend in seamlessly with the design. At Moorgate Kitchens we love to incorporate built-in appliances, such as ovens, microwaves, and refrigerators, to maximise space and maintain a streamlined look.
  3. Select appropriate storage solutions: Storage is a key consideration in any kitchen design. Make sure you have plenty of cabinets, drawers, and shelving to keep everything organised and easily accessible. Consider custom solutions, such as pull-out drawers and pantry systems, to really make the most of your storage space.
  4. Use lighting to enhance the design: Good lighting can make your kitchen look more beautiful while also providing functional illumination. Install a combination of task lighting, such as under-cabinet lights, and ambient lighting, such as pendant lights or recessed lighting, to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  5. Choose quality materials: The materials you use in your kitchen design can have a big impact on both the look and function of the space. High-quality materials will ensure maximum durability and longevity.
  6. Add decorative touches: Finally, don’t forget to add some decorative touches to your kitchen design. This can include artwork, plants, and decorative accessories that add a personal touch and help to tie the design together. Just be careful not to overdo it, as too many decorations can clutter the space and detract from its functionality.
