The Christmas season isn’t all board games and glasses of prosecco. In fact, for the designated chef of the Christmas dinner the lead up to Christmas can often be filled with stress rather than Christmas spirit.

To help ease the pressure that cooking can bring, we thought we’d share our top tips for using your kitchen to it\’s full potential to ensure a stress free festive season…

Prep Everything The Day Before

Completing all your peeling and chopping the night before can save you precious time that can be better spent sat with your family and enjoying the day.

Vital to this process is a kitchen with plenty of worktop space – something that will ensure you have the necessary room to prepare your food and store it until the time comes to cook and serve.

Utilise a warming drawer

The biggest battle when it comes to a Christmas dinner is ensuring your timing is all tied together. But, with presents to be opened and family arriving at your door, it can be difficult to keep everything hot and ready to serve at the same time.

Instead of serving up cold sprouts, using a warming drawer is a great way to keep your food and serving plates warm to avoid those anxious glances at the clock or the impatient faces of hungry family members.

Make sure you\’re stocked up

Nobody wants a last minute panic on Christmas eve when they realise they’ve forgotten the potatoes! Stocking up with enough food to keep everyone happy is the perfect way to take a little weight off your shoulders.

Efficient storage options like larders or pantry units are a great kitchen essential when it comes to keeping enough food in to please the masses.

And, finally, a functional layout is not just for Christmas!

A kitchen layout designed for maximum efficiency based on your needs would be the perfect gift – although it won’t quite fit under a tree! Whether your kitchen is lacking in worktop space, creative storage options, or even well-functioning appliances, there always seems to be something hindering your ability to host the perfect Christmas.
